- The following is a note on how the 520ST behaves with a battery backed
- keyboard clock and various desktop accessories.
-
- I have been testing a battery-backup interface for the keyboard for several
- weeks. As a result, I have found that although the keyboard clock continues
- to keep proper time between power downs and resets the time displayed may
- be different depending upon the accessories on the boot disk.
-
- If GERMCLOCK.ACC or WATCH.ACC is on the disk with or without FIXPANEL.ACC
- the time displayed is always correct. If FIXPANEL.ACC is on the disk
- without GERMCLOCK.ACC or WATCH.ACC the time displayed on the control-panel
- shows 12:00:PM 11/20/85. However, if the system is re-booted without
- changing the clock setting and one of the clock accessories is on the disk
- then the time will be correct.
-
- IF CONTROL.ACC is on the boot disk with or without the clock or watch
- accessories then the date and time are always correct except that the
- seconds are always reset to zero on boot-up.
-
- The DATETIME.PRG always seems to display the correct keyboard time
- no matter which accessories are on the disk.
-
- The above results are using a 520ST with 1 meg upgrade and TOS in ROM.
-
- As soon as I determine the reasons for the above behavior and or any
- solutions I will update this file.
